Dr. Isshiki introduced the Laryngeal Framework Surgery to treat difficult vocal conditions such as vocal cord paralysis or vocal cord atrophy. The procedure has become widely performed today known as Isshiki Thyroplasty. He often gives lectures and/or demonstrations of the procedure on request the world. To date, he has given this surgery to over 800 cases in the last 35 years.
